Presentation of cheques to Maggie's Centre and Rosslyn School, Kirkcaldy

Fife (19 February 2010) -- Project staff from ExxonMobil Chemical's Fife Ethylene Plant at Mossmorran have donated over £1,000 to Maggie's Centre and Rosslyn School in Kirkcaldy.

The money was raised through one of the company's charity safety incentive schemes, which are designed to encourage employees and contractors to work safely. The donation was made on behalf of the team by Jon Gregory, FEP project manager at Fife.

Jon said: "The team obviously benefits on a daily basis by ensuring that Nobody Gets Hurt, but it is also great for us to see local organisations positively benefit from our safety. We appreciate that Tumong Edward from Maggie's Centre and Paul Meijer from Rosslyn School took time out from their busy schedules to come and tell us a bit about these local organisations and the excellent work that they have been doing".

Paul Meijer headteacher of Rosslyn School, said: "This donation will greatly enhance the opportunities our pupils have to work through their senses, by the purchase of equipment for a sensory room that will be accessible to all our pupils. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff and workers of ExxonMobil and wish them a continued safe operation."
